Because Taylor Swift loves nothing more than feeding her fans / making our credit cards beg for mercy, she just announced that—surprise!—an Eras Tour book is incoming. Immediate thoughts upon hearing the news? Put it in the library of congress, followed by where can I buy it? and wait, what even is it?
So yeah: here's what we know about this semi mysterious piece of LIT-ER-A-TURE that will be occupying a special place on bookshelves the world over soon. And yes, Easter Eggs are incoming.
It Drops November 29 (for $39.99)
In other words, on Black Friday. Specifically in Target, which was always going to be chaotic on the day after Thanksgiving and we can only assume will devolve into absolute anarchy due to this release.
P.S. Also for sale in Target on November 29? The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on both vinyl and CD.
It's Written by Taylor Herself
Tay confirmed this in her formal announcement on Insta, saying that the book will be filled with her own reflections—not to mention BTS photos from the tour that have never been seen.
"We’ll be kicking off the final leg of The Eras Tour this week, which is hard to comprehend," Tay wrote in part. "This tour has been the most wondrous experience and I knew I wanted to commemorate the memories we made together in a special way. Well, two ways actually. Excited to announce that The Official Eras Tour Book, filled with my own personal reflections, never-before-seen behind the scenes photos, all the magical memories you guys brought every single night."
There's Already a Link to Buy
Just keep in mind that the book is only available in Target stores on November 29. If you buy it online, it won't be available until November 30.
The Stats
The Eras Tour Book is 256 pages, hardcover, and includes over 500 images—which Target describes as "never-before-seen performance photos from every era" as well as "exclusive rehearsal photos and behind-the-scenes images of instruments, costumes, set pieces and designer sketches."
Also, fun fact, the book is being released by Taylor Swift Publications. Correct: she has launched her own publishing house, people. Which naturally has fans speculating that this is merely the first of many books.
There Are Some Noteworthy Easter Eggs
A fan on Twitter pointed out that this book's release has the most Taylor energy ever.
First of all, it's 256 pages and 2+5+6=13 (aka Taylor's lucky number). On top of that, the release date is 11/29, and 1+1+2+9=13. I mean. HER MIND.
There's also speculation that Taylor used this announcement to imply that Reputation (Taylor's Version) is about to drop—mostly because the book video pauses on the Rep TV section.
Not not convinced.
We'll keep you updated with more developments and sneak peeks as they drop. 'Til then...
